The End Of The World Souvenir Shop: An Exhibition and Symposium: 18th - 26th July 2009
Head Quarters became The End of The World Souvenir Shop as part of the State of Design Festival 2009. The End of The World Souvenir Shop responded to the commoditisation of disaster and the notion of prediction. Can we predict? How do we try and achieve certainty? What is out of our control? How do we try to insulate ourselves from change, chaos, art, weather, each other?
Ten days of impulse buying and symposium exploring these ideas took place in the shop featuring visual art, live art, lectures, sleaze rock and exquisite corpse in video form.
